ABOUT ME
Shelby Brown, a Granite Falls, NC, native, is now living in Charlotte, NC. Shelby has been involved in the pageantry and modeling industries for 14 years. She is a professional model and business owner and currently holds the title of "International Ms. Southern States 2024.” Shelby is heavily involved in community service and volunteers on a regular basis. Shelby is the founder and CEO of her own brand and platform, "Beyond the Pretty Face," which empowers young women to redefine the meaning of beauty and provides them with the skills to develop confidence. Reminding them that beauty is more than just a physical aspect; it's about looking beyond physical characteristics and stereotypes and instead using that as a source of empowerment. She travels the globe, mentoring, presenting workshops, and giving motivational seminars that she actively presents at schools, girl organizations, conferences, and many other events worldwide. She is a strong advocate for serving the local community, state, and world. She has volunteered for and been a part of many organizations. In addition, she has been an avid supporter and fundraiser for Special Olympics, Autism Speaks, and the Autism Society of America. Presently, Shelby is a member of the ACHI—Women Supporting Women Association, the newest and youngest member of Women in Power International (WIPI), and volunteers for Special Olympics events every year. She is a two-time recipient of the Spring Leaf Humanitarian Award for her community service across the state of North Carolina, recognized on iHeartRadio for her global philanthropic effort, awarded the "Mentor on the Rise" and "Young Leader Award" for ACHI Women's Supporting Women's Organization, and a three-time Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipient. Shelby is also a mentor for the Girls Too Women Organization, which focuses on putting an end to the stigma surrounding mental health.
Shelby has modeled for 14 years, doing runway, print, commercial, and fitness modeling. Shelby has been featured in many fashion magazines, including "Supermodel’s Unlimited," "Fashion Avenue News," "Level 21," "Global Couture," "Live Free," and many more. Shelby has won numerous awards, such as the ACHI Women’s Supporting Women Association's "Model of the Year" and Charlotte’s Beauty Ball's "Model of the Year." Shelby has modeled for some of the top designers in North Carolina, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, New York, California, and more. She’s modeled in countless shows such as: Miami Swim Week, Fashion Excursion, New York Fashion Week, Charlotte Swim Week, North Carolina Fashion Association Style Week, Fashion on the Hudson, Fashion DLux, and many more! Shelby recently just won "Model of the Year" for Carolina’s Fashion Awards 2022 (CFA’s). She is currently a business owner, a face of Shawn Monique Designs, a face of a luxury global skincare line, Elle Johnson Cosmetics (currently on 7 billboards), currently on 2 billboards for Supermodels Unlimited, a Marc Defang model, a Mannequin Group model, a model coach, and much more!
In addition, she has been an ambassador for the community, representing North Carolina and Georgia on national and international stages. Shelby recently was the host for Charlotte International Fashion Week 2020 and was a host for Indie Live TV. Shelby knows what it takes to be a presence in front of the camera and a large audience.
